🦐 YOGA & FOOD IN SICILY 🦐

7 days of movement and food exploration in Sicily

October 1st -7th

with Lisa Fraipont and Aly Beveridge

A Practice Week is about uncovering the joy and cultivation of a series of daily practices, planting and attending to an internal garden from which we can watch our life bloom and grow. The acts of feeding, moving, and imagining can then become recipes for joy.

The week will look unlike a traditional yoga retreat, as we will have the chance to create our daily habits co-creatively. Our meals will be guided with the themes personal and Great nature, and how we might make the personal (how I feed myself) more communal (how we all feed ourselves).

Each day we will move together and inhabit our bodies more presently and available. Then, we may explore a local market, smelling, tasting, and reflecting on the ways in which food is found in Sicily. What flavors are boldest here, which ingredients are available, what is our body craving, what am I smelling or tasting?

We will taste ingredients in situ and reflect on them together.

Food and movement will be our tools for self-expression and regeneration.

This retreat is limited to 8 participants. The vibe will be intimate and laid back with time to enjoy the last few moments of summer together

ABOUT US

ALY BEVERIDGE

Aly is a chef and yoga teacher based in Copenhagen Denmark. She has trained with teachers all over the world in a diverse range of practices from katonah to ashtanga yoga, transcendental meditation to vipassana, vedic pranayama to nordic winter bathing. She weaves elements of these diverse lineages into her practice and teaching. During the week she will be co-leading meditative practice with Lisa and teaching dynamic asana with integrated pranayama (aka vinyasa). For Aly the purpose of practice is not about completing another check on a to-do list, but rather about using the tools for wellbeing to live a more full, engaged, and conscious life.

LISA FRAIPONT

Lisa is a Katonah Yoga teacher from Brussels, Belgium.

She’s been teaching hatha yoga for 7 years and found real joy when she discovered Katonah Yoga through Dages Juvelier Keates in Paris in 2018.

She then immersed herself in the practice and the theory and learned with a lot of different teachers.

When she’s not teaching she love to bake sourdough bread or to knit all kinds of hats, playing with technique, pattern & repetition ;)
